Jombang Regency Government Prepares Free Services for NU Congress Participants
The Jombang Regency Government in East Java is preparing free healthcare services for participants of the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress, which will be held in Jombang Regency on 27–31 August 2026.
Jombang Regent Warsubi said the services are being prepared to ensure that congress participants and guests have access to healthcare throughout the series of activities, including for participants from outside the region who are not covered by BPJS Kesehatan.
“We have even amended the regional regulation on Jamkesmaskin so that people from outside Jombang who experience health problems can receive free treatment,” said Regent Warsubi while inspecting the main venue of the NU Congress at Untung Suropati Field, Tambakrejo Village, Jombang District, on Wednesday (19/8/2026).
He explained that the Jombang Regency Government has adjusted the regional regulation on the Health Insurance for the Poor (Jamkesmaskin) to support the financing of healthcare services for people from outside the region who require treatment during the congress.
In addition to healthcare services, the Jombang Regency Government is also preparing a range of support to ensure the smooth running of the congress, including traffic management, public street lighting, sanitation fleets, and portable toilets.
Warsubi stressed that all regional apparatus organisations (OPD) have been instructed to work to the fullest and coordinate with the local committee to ensure all supporting needs are completed before the event.
“We want all preparations to be carried out to the maximum so that the 35th NU Congress can run smoothly and provide benefits for the people of Jombang,” he said.
