Former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has embarked on a political safari, starting his nationwide tour in Lampung on Friday (26/6). He was seen wearing a white shirt and cap bearing the logo of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) as he departed from Adi Soemarmo Airport in Solo, Central Java. Jokowi stated that the attire was a gift from his youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep, who currently serves as the party’s chairman. “Yes, I was sent these by Chairman Kaesang, so I wore them,” Jokowi said at the Solo airport. He explained that he would be travelling with PSI to meet residents, with initial visits also planned for West Java and East Nusa Tenggara. “The schedule has been arranged, both by volunteers and PSI, everything is packed,” he added. Jokowi said his presence at PSI events was intended to motivate the party’s cadres. He plans to stress the importance of completing the party’s structural organisation to build a formidable political machine ahead of the 2029 General Election. Upon arrival at Raden Inten II Airport in South Lampung, Jokowi was greeted by hundreds of supporters. He is scheduled to spend three days visiting five areas: Mesuji Regency, Tulang Bawang Regency, Bandar Lampung City, Pesawaran Regency, and East Lampung Regency. His agenda includes meetings with community leaders, traditional figures, and volunteers, as well as attending cultural events. The chairman of PSI’s South Lampung branch, Ivan Destianto, confirmed the visit includes a party coordination meeting.
