Jokowi's House Goes Viral After Being Labelled 'Solo Wailing Wall' on Google Maps

The residence of Indonesia’s seventh president, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), at Jalan Kutai Utara No. 1 has suddenly gone viral after being marked with the name ‘Tembok Ratapan Solo’ (Solo Wailing Wall) on Google Maps. The location name appeared directly above the site of Jokowi’s home in Kelurahan Sumber, Kecamatan Banjarsari.

Beyond Google Maps, the phenomenon was amplified by the circulation of a video showing a young man performing as though he were wailing in front of the house’s gate. The video was shared, among others, by the Instagram account @indopium.

“The Wailing Wall in Solo has now become one of the most hyped spots for Gen Z youth,” the account wrote, as reported by detikJateng on Monday (16/2/2026).

Jokowi’s adjutant, AKBP Syarif Fitriansyah, acknowledged that he was already aware of the unusual naming on the digital platform. However, he could not confirm whether the president who served from 2014 to 2024 was yet aware of the matter.

“Yes, I already know about it. I’m not sure whether Bapak knows yet or not,” he said when contacted.

When asked about the possibility of requesting a name change on Google Maps, Syarif declined to comment further. He personally said he was not offended by the label.
