Jokowi to Visit Central Lampung Tomorrow
Former Indonesian President Joko Widodo is set to commence a series of visits across Indonesia. The first destination will be Lampung, with his departure from Solo scheduled for Friday, 26 June 2026. Jokowi revealed the plan to visit Lampung tomorrow when speaking to journalists at his residence in Sumber, Banjarsari, Solo, Central Java, on Thursday, 25 June 2025. “To Lampung tomorrow morning, want to come?” Jokowi said with a laugh. On that day, Jokowi was seen receiving a steady stream of residents visiting his private home. Many visitors queued to meet the father of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and take photographs. He also greeted and accommodated residents’ requests for photos. “Everyone will get in later, yes,” he said. The plan for Jokowi’s departure to Lampung the following morning was also confirmed by his aide, Senior Commissioner Syarif Muhammar Fitriansyah, when contacted. “He departs tomorrow morning,” Syarif said. Jokowi had previously hinted at his travel plans to several regions in Indonesia. The statement emerged when he greeted residents from Lampung who were queuing at his residence for photos some time ago. “Where are you from?” Jokowi asked while shaking hands with residents at his home on Monday, 22 June 2026. “Lampung,” the residents replied in unison. On that occasion, Jokowi also mentioned his plan to visit Lampung on Friday, assuring the residents present that they would be able to enter and meet him. “Next week on Friday I will go to Lampung. Everyone will get in, later you’ll get in,” Jokowi said. He reiterated the agenda as he was about to enter his house. Jokowi specified that he would be heading to Central Lampung on Friday. Besides Lampung, Jokowi had previously mentioned other regions he plans to visit, including East Nusa Tenggara and West Java. He stated that the agenda is to fulfil invitations from the communities. “Because there are invitations from the regions,” Jokowi said when asked about the purpose of his regional tours.
