Jokowi to Embark on Central Java Safari with PSI This Month

Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), is scheduled to undertake a political safari across Central Java together with the Central Java branch of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). The political safari is planned for mid-July.

“We are preparing it as quickly as possible. We will coordinate with the team, and hopefully, by mid-July, it can proceed. We have proposed almost 35 regencies/cities; naturally, the President will choose which ones he will visit,” said the Chairman of the PSI Central Java Regional Leadership Council, Antonius Yogo, as reported on Friday (3/7/2026).

His party has already proposed the political safari across 35 regencies/cities to Jokowi. Yogo mentioned that this plan was presented during a direct meeting with Jokowi. He noted that the team is currently finalising the schedule and technical field arrangements.

“We are immediately awaiting the President’s schedule regarding the dates. Clearly, our task today is to prepare for his visit, to ensure that as he travels across Central Java, the region remains a stronghold,” he said.

Unlike a standard visit, Jokowi’s political safari in Central Java this time is planned to be packaged with a touch of local culture. Yogo hinted that there would be surprises during each visit.

“There are interesting things that can be done together. There will also be surprises related to several rituals or local customs of the community, which we will package into a carnival,” he explained.
