Jokowi to Embark on Central Java Safari with PSI This Month
The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), is scheduled to conduct a political safari across Central Java with the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Central Java. The political safari is planned for mid-July. “As soon as possible, we are preparing it as soon as possible. We will contact the team, hopefully by mid-July it can proceed. We have proposed nearly 35 regencies/cities, of course, the President will choose which ones he is likely to visit,” said the Chairman of PSI Central Java, Antonius Yogo, as reported by detikJateng on Friday (3/7/2026). His party has proposed a political safari to 35 regencies/cities to Jokowi. Yogo stated that this plan was conveyed during a direct meeting with Jokowi. Yogo mentioned that the team is currently finalising the schedule and technical details on the ground. “We are waiting for the schedule from the President for the date. The point is, our task today is to prepare for the President to go down, for the President to tour Central Java to ensure that Central Java truly is the ‘Kandang Gajah’ (Politically Safe Stronghold),” he said. Unlike ordinary visits, Jokowi’s political safari in Central Java this time is planned to be packaged with a touch of local culture. Yogo hinted that there would be surprises in each visit. “There are interesting things that can be done together. There will also be surprises related to certain rituals or community customs that we will package in a carnival,” he revealed.
