Jokowi Speaks Out on Wearing PSI Attire

The 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), has once again signalled his closeness to the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). When questioned about the PSI-logoed shirt he wore during his visit to Lampung, Jokowi chose to provide a brief response that drew significant attention.

The statement was made following a series of activities in Lampung Province on Saturday, 27 June 2026. During his two-day stay in the region, Jokowi attended several agendas involving PSI, volunteers, the public, MSME owners, and traditional leaders.

“If someone is already wearing that shirt, it means they know for themselves,” said Jokowi.

Before making that statement, Jokowi explained that all the agendas he undertook in Lampung were invitations that he endeavoured to fulfil as much as possible.

“In accordance with the invitations received. Today, I have fulfilled several. Both from PSI, the community, and volunteers,” he said.

During the visit, Jokowi attended the Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda) of PSI in Mesuji Regency, Tulang Bawang Regency, and Bandar Lampung City. In addition to political agendas, he also fulfilled invitations from MSME owners in Pringsewu and attended a traditional title-conferring ceremony at Kedaton Agung Lampung.

Jokowi added that his series of visits to Lampung also included religious agendas. On the final day of his visit, Sunday, 28 June 2026, he was scheduled to attend an activity at an Islamic boarding school (pesantren).

“Tomorrow is the last stop at the Pesantren. This means from the community side we are present, from the political side of PSI we are present, from the religious side of the pesantren we are also present. From the side of traditional culture, we were also there. All invitations that come to me, I will attend as much as possible, though there are some I cannot attend,” he said.

While in Lampung, Jokowi also gathered all officials from the DPW, DPD, and DPRt of PSI across Lampung Province to engage in dialogue and provide guidance ahead of party consolidation for the 2029 General Election.

It was previously reported that the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, began a series of agendas touring Indonesia on Friday, 26 June 2026. The first city visited by Jokowi was Lampung, where he conducted field visits over three days.

Before departing from Adi Soemarmo Airport in Solo, Jokowi was seen wearing a shirt and hat featuring the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) logo.
