Jokowi Signals PSI Membership, Secretary General Responds

Former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has signalled his position within the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) after being spotted wearing party attributes. PSI Secretary General Raja Juli Antoni stated that Jokowi is not yet officially part of the party structure.

“For now, Pak Jokowi’s position in PSI is as a mentor and motivator, besides being the ‘ideological father’ of PSI,” Raja Juli told reporters on Sunday (28/6/2026).

He then called for public support for Jokowi and PSI in the future. “Just pray for the best. We ask for the people’s support for Bapak Jokowi and PSI,” he said.

Jokowi had previously given a brief response regarding his membership status in PSI. Wearing a PSI jacket after attending a PSI Regional Leadership Council coordination meeting in Bandar Lampung, Jokowi hinted at his position within the party.

He was initially asked whether the PSI logo jacket he was wearing signified his role as Chairman of the PSI Advisory Board. “If someone is already wearing the shirt, you know what it means,” Jokowi said briefly in Bandar Lampung, as reported by detikSumbagsel on Saturday (27/6).

During his two-day visit to Lampung, Jokowi said he fulfilled various invitations from multiple parties. Besides attending the PSI political agenda, he also participated in community activities, met with MSME players, and received a traditional title. Jokowi noted that his visit to Lampung encompassed various elements of society. Following the political and cultural events, he was scheduled to visit an Islamic boarding school as part of the tour.
