Jokowi Responds to JK's Move to Report Rismon to Police

President of the Republic of Indonesia’s 7th term, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), has responded to the actions of the Republic of Indonesia’s 10th and 12th Vice President, Jusuf Kalla (JK), in reporting Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar to the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri). Rismon was reported for allegedly accusing JK of funding several parties to question the authenticity of Jokowi’s diploma. Jokowi himself responded positively to the report filed by JK with Bareskrim. Jokowi deemed the step appropriate. “Yes, it’s good; handing it over to the legal process is a good thing,” said Jokowi on Friday (10/4). Jokowi refrained from speculating on who might be behind the fake diploma issue targeting him. The father of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka entrusted law enforcement to uncover all parties involved in the polemic. “I don’t want to speculate on names because that requires evidence and legal facts,” he said. “So this is the same; hand everything over to the existing legal process,” he continued. Previously, JK visited the Bareskrim Polri building to report the alleged dissemination of hoaxes suspected to have been carried out by Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar and several YouTube accounts. The report was filed directly by JK to Bareskrim Polri on Wednesday (8/4). The report was received and registered under number LP/B/135/IV/2026/SPKT/Bareskrim Polri. JK claimed he chose to report Rismon because the accusation of being a funder was deemed unethical and highly insulting to him as someone who had accompanied Jokowi as Vice President for five years. “I am reporting Rismon Sianipar for his actions that I consider harmful to me because he said I funded Roy Suryo and associates regarding Mr Jokowi’s diploma issue,” said JK.
