Jokowi Ready to Tour Regions After Recovery from Illness

Former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has stated he is ready to travel across various regions in Indonesia after his health has recovered. He said the agenda is not a pre-planned trip but a response to invitations from communities in different areas.

“Indeed, I have many invitations from regions to attend, from the public,” Jokowi said when met in Solo, Central Java, on Monday, 25 May 2026, after returning from Jakarta.

The seventh president of Indonesia did not deny that during some visits, he would meet members of the Solidarity Party (PSI) in the regions and his volunteer supporters. He described his presence as a form of silaturahmi. “And it’s also to provide motivation and meet PSI members in the regions. Plus meet volunteers in the areas. Yes, because there are invitations,” he said.

Previously, PSI Acting Chairman Ahmad Ali stated that PSI cadres in the regions are ready to welcome Jokowi if the touring agenda proceeds. He said Jokowi’s visits would be welcomed by party members across various areas.

“If he comes down, Insha’Allah, every region he visits will certainly be welcomed by PSI cadres there,” Ahmad Ali said after meeting Jokowi at Sumber residence in Banjarsari, Solo, on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.
