Jokowi on PSI Membership: 'Already Wearing the Jacket, You Know What That Means'

Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) gave a brief response regarding his membership status in the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). Wearing a PSI jacket after attending the PSI Bandar Lampung City Regional Leadership Coordination Meeting, Jokowi signalled his position within the party. Initially, Jokowi was asked whether the PSI-logo jacket he was wearing indicated that he had become the Chairman of the PSI Advisory Board. ‘If someone is already wearing the jacket, you know what that means,’ Jokowi said succinctly in Bandar Lampung. During his two days in Lampung, Jokowi said he fulfilled various invitations from a number of parties. In addition to attending PSI’s political agenda, he attended community activities, met with micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) players, and received a traditional title. ‘Yes, in accordance with the existing invitations, over these two days I have fulfilled several. From PSI, from the community, and from volunteers,’ he said. According to Jokowi, his visit to Lampung also encompassed various elements of society. After attending political and cultural agendas, he was scheduled to visit an Islamic boarding school as part of the tour series.
