The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), has embarked on a mission to strengthen the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) into a major political force, beginning his nationwide tour in Lampung. During the visit, Jokowi said he would provide motivation and push for the party’s structure to be completed immediately.

Jokowi departed for Lampung from Adi Soemarmo Airport in Solo this morning. He stated that he would meet with PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep in Lampung and attend a series of party events. “(Accompanied by Mas Kaesang?) Yes, I will meet him there later,” Jokowi said when met at Adi Soemarmo Airport on Friday (26/6/2026).

According to Jokowi, the agenda for his visit to Lampung has been arranged jointly with volunteers and PSI. “The preparations are complete now. The schedule has been drawn up, both by the volunteers and PSI. It’s packed,” he said. Jokowi emphasised that his presence at the PSI event was not merely to attend a party function, but also to provide motivation to the cadres. “For PSI, I want to act as a motivator and also convey the important message that PSI’s structure must be completed soon, so it becomes a major political machine,” he explained. “It is also important to raise the public’s political awareness,” he added. Jokowi was seen departing for Lampung wearing a white shirt and a cap, both bearing the PSI logo.

Prior to the departure, it was announced that Jokowi would begin his nationwide tour by visiting Lampung from 26 to 28 June 2026. This was conveyed by the Chairman of the Nusantara Brigade (BRN) Volunteers, Relly Ragen, following a meeting with Jokowi. Ragen said preparations for welcoming the 2014-2024 President were almost complete. “The preparations are now mature. Permits are in place, the location is ready. Yes, preparations in Lampung are about 80 percent,” Ragen said during an interview at Jokowi’s residence in Sumber, Banjarsari, Solo, on Monday (15/6/2026).
