Jokowi Joins 'Mas Bahlil Ganteng' Song, PSI: He Connects With All Walks of Life

Indonesia’s seventh president, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), joined in giving a ‘finger heart’ gesture while a group of young people sang the viral song ‘Mas Bahlil Ganteng’ outside his residence in Solo, Central Java. Solidarity Indonesia Party (PSI) said Jokowi can connect with all walks of life.

‘It shows President Jokowi is also cherished by the youth, which is positive. The atmosphere was truly remarkable and touching. It turns out his home and he himself connect with all walks of life,’ said Bestari Barus, PSI DPP chairman, to journalists on Monday, 1 June 2026.

According to Bestari, Jokowi’s participation in the youth singing ‘Mas Bahlil Ganteng’ was a rare and extraordinary event. He expressed a wish to join in singing with the young people outside Jokowi’s residence.

At the same time, Bestari noted Jokowi is well-versed in social media trends, allowing him to quickly respond to viral content.

‘President Jokowi is tech-savvy, meaning he’s active on social media and keeps up with what’s trending online. I believe he’s not out of touch,’ Bestari added.

‘He stays updated on various matters, including youth issues, film interviews, and more—not always political discussions with him,’ he continued.

The video of young people singing ‘Mas Bahlil Ganteng’ was uploaded by Jokowi on his official Instagram account on Saturday, 30 May 2026. In the uploaded video, the youths can be seen mimicking lyrics from ‘Mas Bahlil Ganteng’.

The song includes lyrics such as ‘MBG: Mas Bahlil Ganteng, what’s the sweetest fruit? Bahlil fruit, even more handsome, my little bolu ketan, ups, kanda likes dinda’s style, damn he’s getting cuter guys, if you look closely he resembles Zayn Malik, oh my Bahlil handsome’.

The youths also showcased their style while performing the lyrics line by line. Additionally, Jokowi’s face appeared in the video clip.

Jokowi was seen making a finger heart gesture. Dressed in a white hat and batik shirt, he smiled while performing the gesture as he walked.

Jokowi stated the song ‘Mas Bahlil Ganteng’ had reached his doorstep.

Initially, Jokowi said he was curious about the commotion outside his home in Gang Kutai, Solo. He revealed it was young people dancing to ‘Mas Bahlil Ganteng’.

Jokowi viewed this as a unique way of expressing joy. ‘Clearly, their creativity deserves appreciation,’ he said.

‘Greetings from Solo,’ he added.
