Jokowi, Iriana and Anwar Usman Attend Eid Prayer at Solo's Sheikh Zayed Mosque

Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) attended Eid al-Adha prayers at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Solo. He was accompanied by his wife Iriana and his brother-in-law, former Constitutional Court Chief Justice Anwar Usman, and his wife Idayati. Jokowi and his entourage arrived at the mosque around 5:47 am WIB. Jokowi wore a white koko shirt paired with a batik sarong, while Anwar Usman donned a koko shirt with black trousers. After the Eid prayer, Jokowi left the mosque while accommodating individual photo requests from worshippers. He stated that Eid al-Adha is a time for sharing. “Eid al-Adha is about sacrifice and sharing for humanity,” Jokowi said at Sheikh Zayed Mosque. At the same event, Anwar Usman interpreted Eid al-Adha as a call to sacrifice for the nation and country. The Eid al-Adha prayer was led by KH. Ibrahim Asfari, Al-Hafidz, who also delivered the sermon. “Insha’Allah, yes, as mentioned in the sermon, we are ready to sacrifice for the nation and country,” he said.
