Jokowi in Jakarta, Expected to Attend Bhayangkara Day Ceremony

Former President Joko Widodo is reportedly set to attend the commemoration of Bhayangkara Day at the Indonesian National Police’s Mobile Brigade Corps Training Unit in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java. The celebration of the police institution’s 80th anniversary takes place on Wednesday, 1 July 2026. Jokowi’s attendance was confirmed by his aide-de-camp, Senior Commissioner Syarif Muhammad Fitriansyah. “God willing. He has already arrived in Jakarta,” Syarif said when contacted on Tuesday, 30 June 2026. President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to lead the 80th Bhayangkara Anniversary ceremony tomorrow. Head of the National Police Public Relations Division, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, revealed that President Prabowo will act as the inspecting officer. “The 80th Bhayangkara Day ceremony will be led by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr Prabowo Subianto, as the Inspecting Officer, and will be attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka,” Johnny said on Tuesday. In addition to the two national leaders, Johnny stated that invited guests to the ceremony include officials from ministries and agencies of the Red and White Cabinet and related stakeholders. According to the event schedule seen by Tempo, the series of Bhayangkara Day activities will commence at around 7:00 AM Western Indonesian Time. Tomorrow’s agenda includes the ceremony, the awarding of honours, demonstrations, a parade, and a thanksgiving event. This year’s Bhayangkara Day carries the theme ‘80 Years of Polri’s Service to the Community’. The location of the central celebration in Cikeas differs from previous years. Johnny said the Brimob Training Unit in Cikeas was chosen because it holds symbolic meaning related to the formation of police personnel’s values and character. “The Brimob Training Unit in Cikeas is an open representation so that the public can see that every police task involves an educational and training process for forming values and character,” Johnny said. “This is a symbol of improving the quality of human resources, which is the foundation of Polri’s service.”
