Jokowi Distributes Cash and Basic Goods to Residents at Solo Market
Former Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) conducted a distribution of basic goods and cash to residents in the Pasar Jongke area, Pajang, Laweyan, Solo City, Central Java.
Prior to this, Jokowi had also distributed basic goods and cash at the car park in front of Galabo, Pasar Kliwon.
Jokowi, travelling in a Toyota Alphard with registration number B 2470 ZZR, arrived at the Pasar Jongke area at approximately 10.40 Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
According to Jokowi’s aide, AKBP Syarif Fitriansyah, 400 food parcels were distributed. He noted that Jokowi frequently distributes basic goods, having done so regularly last year.
“There are 400 food parcels; sir is indeed accustomed to distributing basic goods. He did so last year too,” he stated.
In addition to distributing basic goods and cash from inside the vehicle, a support vehicle behind Jokowi’s Alphard carried additional food parcels for distribution to residents.
Residents queued to receive cash and food parcels from Jokowi’s vehicle. One resident, Purnomo, told media: “I came from across the street, and seeing such a crowd, it turned out Mr Jokowi was distributing basic goods.”
“Praise be to God, I received assistance from Mr Jokowi. My gratitude; this will help with breaking the fast later,” he added.
Another resident, Sandy, noted that the food parcels included rice and noodles.
“Praise be to God, it contains rice and basic goods. I managed to glimpse the envelope with 50,000 rupiah,” Sandy said.
