Jokowi Distributes Basic Commodities and Cash to Residents at Jongke Market in Solo

Seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo distributed basic food packages and cash to residents in the Jongke Market area, Pajang, Laweyan, Solo. Prior to this, Jokowi also distributed basic commodities and cash in the car park in front of Galabo, Kliwon Market.

According to detikJateng monitoring at approximately 10.40 WIB, Jokowi arrived at Jongke Market in a Toyota Alphard bearing registration plate B-2470-ZZR. In addition to distributing basic commodities and cash from inside the vehicle, a support vehicle followed behind Jokowi’s Alphard, containing additional basic foodstuffs to be distributed to residents.

Upon learning of Jokowi’s arrival, residents in the Jongke Market area immediately rushed and queued to receive basic commodities and cash. Residents lined up in an orderly fashion awaiting their turn to receive the assistance.

One resident, Purnomo, said he ran to be able to obtain the basic commodities. “I came from across the way, there was a crowd and it turned out President Jokowi was distributing basic commodities,” he said when met at the location on Thursday (12 March 2026).

Purnomo mentioned receiving basic commodities from Jokowi, which he would later use for breaking the fast during Ramadan.

Another resident, Sandy, admitted being surprised when Jokowi’s vehicle stopped and began distributing basic commodities. He noted that various staple items, such as rice and noodles, were distributed by Jokowi.

“Alhamdulillah, it contained basic commodity rice. (The envelope) when I opened it slightly showed a nominal amount of 50,000 rupiah,” Sandy said.
