Relawan from Rumah Juang Jokowi (RJ2), also part of the Rumah Juang Prabowo-Gibran volunteers, have finally spoken out regarding Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar’s request to resolve the case through restorative justice (RJ) in the alleged fake diploma case of Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo.

In their statement of position, RJ2 conveyed five key points regarding the developing dynamics.

RJ2 emphasised that the restorative justice mechanism is part of the reform of the national criminal justice system. This refers to Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code.

This approach is deemed to provide space for resolving cases in a more just, humane manner, oriented towards restoring social relationships.

Additionally, RJ2 also noted Rismon’s step in publicly expressing an apology to Jokowi and his family. The apology was even made directly by meeting Jokowi in Solo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta.

According to RJ2, based on information circulating in the public sphere through Jokowi’s legal representatives, the apology has been accepted in principle and is now handed over to the ongoing legal process.

On the other hand, RJ2 also highlighted the attitude of Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo, which is seen as demonstrating wisdom in addressing this case.

The volunteers assessed that Jokowi chose to place the matter within the legal corridor by fully entrusting it to legal advisors and investigators at the Metro Jaya Police, particularly the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation.

Emotionally, RJ2 acknowledged that the volunteers feel psychological dynamics from various events affecting Jokowi. Nevertheless, they stressed the importance of maintaining unity, political maturity, and respect for the law.

On that basis, RJ2 stated full support for resolving the case through the restorative justice mechanism, as long as it is carried out in accordance with legal provisions, transparently, and upholding principles of justice and moral responsibility.

“Rumah Juang Jokowi or RJ2 hopes this process can serve as a collective lesson for democratic life and public ethics in Indonesia so that differences of opinion no longer develop into personal attacks that degrade a person’s dignity,” said C Suhadi, one of the RJ2 volunteers, quoted on Wednesday, 18 March 2026.
