The alleged defamation case involving accusations of a fake diploma belonging to the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), has entered a new chapter. The case files involving Roy Suryo and Tifauziah Tyassuma, also known as Dr Tifa, have been declared complete (P-21) by the Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office. Following this status, investigators from the Metro Jaya Regional Police will immediately transfer the suspects and evidence to the public prosecutor for further legal proceedings.

This means the case, which has garnered significant public attention, is now one step away from trial. The Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Commissioner Iman Imannuddin, stated that all instructions previously provided by the prosecutor’s office have been fulfilled by the investigators. “The case files we sent to the Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office no longer require any further amendments; we have fulfilled the previous deficiencies,” he said on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.

With the files declared complete, investigators are now focusing on preparing the second stage, which involves the handover of suspects and physical evidence to the prosecution. “Therefore, we are currently coordinating the transfer of responsibility for the evidence and the suspects,” he added.

In this case, Roy Suryo and Dr Tifa are among the group of suspects whose cases will proceed to court. Both are charged under Articles 310 and/or 311 of the Criminal Code (KUHP), as well as several articles within the Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Law.

Meanwhile, different developments are occurring for other suspects in the same case. For Kurnia Tri Rohyani, Rustam Effendi, and Muhammad Rizal Fadillah, the investigation is still ongoing as their case files are currently in the process of being completed. All three reportedly declined restorative justice (RJ) options, meaning their legal processes will continue. Conversely, investigators have issued a letter to terminate the investigation (SP3) for Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, Eggi Sudjana, and Damai Hari Lubis. The suspect status for these three individuals was revoked after a peace agreement was reached with the reporting party, including Jokowi. Furthermore, they have acknowledged the authenticity of the diploma that was previously contested in the controversy.

With the case files for Roy Suryo and Dr Tifa now declared complete, the legal process regarding the alleged accusations of Jokowi’s fake diploma has entered the prosecution phase prior to the upcoming court trial.
