Jokowi Diploma Case: Doctor Tifa and Roy Suryo Arrested by Police
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Suspects in the case of alleged fake diplomas of Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo, Tifauziah Tyassuma alias Doctor Tifa and Roy Suryo, were reportedly arrested by police on Friday morning (19/6/2026).
This news was confirmed by one of Roy Suryo’s legal team members, Petrus Selestinus, to CNNIndonesia.com.
“Today, Friday 19 June 2026, at around 07.00, our client Roy Suryo Notodiprojo was informed by his wife that he had been arrested by investigators from Polda Metro Jaya. At the same time, we also received information that Tifauzia Tyassuma was also arrested,” said Petrus.
Dr Tifa was arrested by police officers at her apartment on Friday morning (19/6) at around 06.47 WIB.
Petrus expressed regret over the actions of the Polda Metro Jaya investigators who carried out a coercive measure through the arrest of his client.
“Even though our client has been cooperative in fulfilling investigators’ summons and has even always carried out mandatory reporting,” he said.
“Secondly, if the action in question is in the context of phase two or as reported the case file is complete, then such action could be carried out by issuing a summons letter. Not by coercive (repressive) measures through an arrest process,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dr Tifa’s legal team member Azis Yanuar said his client was picked up by police at her apartment at around 06.47 WIB.
“Yes, that’s right, arrested,” Azis told CNNIndonesia.com.
Both Roy Suryo and Dr Tifa have been suspects in the case of Jokowi’s alleged fake diploma since November 2025.
