Former Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has finally spoken out regarding the legal case involving Roy Suryo and Tifauziah Tyassuma, also known as dr Tifa, who have been named suspects for spreading allegations about a fake diploma.

Responding to the ongoing legal process, Jokowi emphasised that he respects all stages of the law currently underway. He stated that the resolution of the case rests entirely with the court, which will deliver a verdict based on the facts and evidence presented.

“We will follow the existing legal process until the court hearing. Because it is the court that will decide. We will follow it, we will follow it,” Jokowi said when met at his residence in Sumber, Banjarsari, Solo, on Friday, 19 June 2026.

The statement was made amid the latest developments in the fake diploma allegation case, which has progressed to an advanced stage after the case file was declared complete, or P-21, by the prosecutor’s office.

Jokowi Confirms He Will Attend the Trial in Person

Beyond stating his respect for the legal process, Jokowi also confirmed he will appear in person should the case proceed to trial. The former Mayor of Solo said his attendance is part of his commitment to follow the legal process through to its conclusion.

When asked about the possibility of attending the trial, Jokowi gave a short but firm answer. “Yes, I will attend,” he said.

The statement also addresses various speculations regarding his involvement in the evidentiary process in court. Jokowi’s presence is expected to be a major focus of the trial, given that the case directly concerns allegations against the authenticity of his educational documents.

Ready to Bring Original Diploma Before the Judge

Jokowi also affirmed his readiness to bring his original diploma as evidence in the trial. He said the original document, which has been the subject of debate, will be shown to the panel of judges if required during the evidentiary process.

According to Jokowi, this step has been conveyed to the public several times and will be carried out in accordance with the applicable legal mechanisms.

“Yes (bring the original diploma), as I have previously stated,” Jokowi asserted.

The statement serves as Jokowi’s latest confirmation regarding his willingness to prove the authenticity of the educational documents that have been questioned by several parties.
