Jokowi Begins Regional Political Safari This Month, First Destination Lampung
Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is commencing his political safari this month, with Lampung Province as his first destination for a three-day visit. Jokowi is scheduled to conduct activities in Lampung from 26 to 28 June 2026, visiting several regencies and cities within the region.
Relly Reagen, General Chair of the Brigade Rakyat Nusantara (BRN) volunteer group, stated that his organisation, together with the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) as the event’s organiser, has ensured all permits have been completed. ‘Preparations are mature, location permits are ready. It’s about 80 per cent done,’ he said after meeting Jokowi at his residence in Sumber, Solo, Central Java, on Monday (15/6).
During the three-day visit, Relly said Jokowi will meet residents and community figures from Lampung spread across Bandar Lampung City, Central Lampung, East Lampung, and Pringsewu. ‘There will be MSME players, Islamic boarding schools, young people, farmers, and others,’ he noted.
He claimed that many Lampung residents have felt the impact of development during Jokowi’s presidency. Therefore, they wish to meet the father of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka in person, even though he is no longer in office. ‘So the invitation came from the community, from community figures. We merely conveyed it to Mr Jokowi,’ he concluded.
