Jokowi Begins Lampung Tour Wearing PSI Elephant-Logo Shirt and Cap from Kaesang

Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) began a series of nationwide tours on Friday, 26 June 2026. The first city he visited was Lampung, where Jokowi will spend three days meeting the public.

Before departing from Adi Soemarmo Airport in Solo, Jokowi was seen wearing a shirt and cap bearing the logo of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI).

Jokowi said his activity schedule in Lampung had been arranged and would be filled with a number of agendas with volunteers and PSI.

‘The event rundown has been prepared, both from the volunteers and from PSI, everything is packed,’ said Jokowi.

During the visit, Jokowi admitted he would attend PSI activities to provide motivation to the cadres of the party led by Kaesang Pangarep. According to him, strengthening the organisational structure is important so that PSI is ready to face the 2029 General Election.

‘For PSI, I want to provide motivation, and also convey important messages that the structural organisation within PSI must be completed soon, so it becomes a large political machine,’ he explained.

In addition to strengthening the party’s internal consolidation, Jokowi also wants to encourage increased political awareness among the public.

‘Then also to awaken the public’s political awareness, that is also important,’ he said.

Regarding the PSI attributes he wore upon departure, Jokowi mentioned that the shirt and cap were a gift from PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep.

‘Yes, they were sent by Chairman Kaesang, so I wore them,’ Jokowi concluded.
