Jokowi Attends PSI Cultural Parade in Tegal, Mingles with Crowds
Indonesia’s seventh president, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), was seen attending a Cultural Parade organized by the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) in Tegal on Sunday, February 15, 2026. His presence immediately drew the attention of residents who packed the event venue.
Jokowi was seen wearing a white shirt and mingling with the public in attendance. He was accompanied by PSI Deputy General Chairman Isyana Bagoes Oka while taking part in the cultural parade activities. The former DKI Jakarta Governor simply laughed when he saw PSI General Chairman Kaesang Pangarep open the Cultural Parade. The atmosphere appeared relaxed and full of warmth.
Earlier, Kaesang said the cultural parade is part of the party’s outreach efforts to the public using a grounded approach close to local traditions. According to him, PSI wants to ensure that every political activity remains rooted in the local community’s cultural heritage. For this reason, the cultural parade concept was chosen so that the party’s introduction process respects, preserves, and celebrates the cultural values that thrive among the people.
“We want to be present in a way that is enjoyable, open, and still upholds local wisdom. Politics must be able to go hand in hand with culture, not leave it behind,” Kaesang said.
Beyond serving as an outreach tool, the cultural parade is also expected to deliver a direct economic impact for the community. The event involved MSME operators and local artists, so that promotional opportunities, appreciation, and economic circulation can be felt directly by residents.
PSI believes that regional progress will be stronger when politics, culture, social solidarity, and the empowerment of MSMEs and artists can move together.
On a previous occasion, PSI officials had also gone directly to the evacuation site for a land movement disaster in Tegal Regency to distribute essential supplies to affected victims.
“In addition to the cultural parade held by PSI today, the PSI Central Board also went directly to deliver disaster aid for the land movement yesterday,” Kaesang said.
