Jokowi and SBY Join Hands with Prabowo to Celebrate Eid at the Palace
President Prabowo Subianto held hands with Indonesia’s sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah reception held at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Saturday (21/3/2026). This moment was not only an opportunity for reconnection but also showcased the togetherness of leaders in the warm atmosphere of Eid. A number of national figures attended the reception, including Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and seventh President Joko Widodo. Their presence reflects the continuity of national leadership that remains closely connected in a familial setting. In addition to national figures, state institution leaders and members of the Merah Putih Cabinet also attended and mingled at Merdeka Palace. They came to reconnect directly with President Prabowo while celebrating Eid al-Fitr together in an atmosphere full of familiarity. President Prabowo welcomed the state officials at Merdeka Palace, accompanied by his son, Didit Hediprasetyo. A warm atmosphere was evident as the President shook hands and had brief conversations with the attending guests, creating a sense of togetherness on the day of victory. Interestingly, the attendance of state officials at this reception was not mandatory. President Prabowo had previously directed that the event should not require the presence of state officials, so the attendance of the figures was entirely based on personal intentions to reconnect and strengthen national relations. This year’s Eid al-Fitr reception thus became a meaningful space for nurturing unity and harmony among national leaders.
