Jokowi and Gibran Return Home Together in the Same Car After Attending Discussion with Prabowo at the Presidential Palace

The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), returned home in the same car as his eldest son and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming after attending a national discourse with President Prabowo Subianto at the Istana Merdeka. Jokowi and Gibran left the Istana in the same vehicle. Detikcom observed on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, that the event, which began at 19:30 WIB, finished at 23:13 WIB. After the meeting lasting about four hours, a number of figures began to depart. Former presidents and vice presidents left through the side door of Merdeka Palace, accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. The first to leave were the 10th and 12th Vice Presidents Jusuf Kalla, followed by the 13th Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, then Jokowi, with Gibran shortly following in the same car used by Jokowi. Thereafter, the 11th Vice President Boediono departed, and finally the 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY). After the figures had left the premises, the convoy of vice-presidential cars departed the Palace. Meanwhile, other figures, party chairs, cabinet members, and former foreign ministers exited via the Istana Negara gates. Earlier, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said Prabowo had invited several figures to seek views on the current situation. When asked what would be discussed, he did not detail the topics. ‘For a discussion to exchange views in a spirit of goodwill. The President wishes to exchange views with those figures,’ Teddy said at the Presidential Complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 3 March 2026. ‘Everything will be discussed, though it had not begun yet,’ he added.
