Jokowi and Gibran Return Home by Car After Meeting at the Presidential Palace

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka left the Presidential Palace in Jakarta with his father, former President Joko Widodo, after accompanying President Prabowo Subianto to a national dinner on Tuesday night, 3 March 2026. Prabowo invited the former president and vice president, the former foreign minister, the general chairmen of political parties in parliament, and a number of businessmen to attend the national dinner. The meeting ran from 19:30 WIB and ended about 3.5 hours later. The former heads of state exited through the side door of Merdeka Palace. The 10th and 12th Vice Presidents, Jusuf Kalla, were the first guests to depart, with Kalla accompanied by Secretary to the Cabinet Teddy Indra Wijaya. Around 23:13 WIB, Jokowi and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin were seen leaving Merdeka Palace, with Vice President Boediono walking behind them. The group of Prabowo’s guests walked in a procession toward cars parked at the end of the corridor. Secretary to the Cabinet Teddy Indra Wijaya saw Jokowi off, standing near the vehicle to greet him. After shaking hands with Ma’ruf, Boediono, and Teddy, Jokowi then got into the back seat of a grey BMW i7. Moments later, Gibran entered the same car via the door on the opposite side. The car carrying Jokowi and Gibran then drove away from the Jakarta Presidential Palace.
