Jokowi Accepts Invitation to Star in Dayak Film: 'Ready!'

“Of course I’m ready. The lead actor is ready, supporting cast is ready, extras are ready,” Jokowi said with a laugh when interviewed by journalists at his residence in Sumber, Banjarsari, Solo, as reported by detikJateng on Monday, 25 May 2026.

Jokowi confirmed that the offer to act in the film was directly conveyed by Panglima Jilah during their meeting last week.

“Yes, he spoke to me like that,” he said.

Panglima Jilah met Jokowi in Solo last week. Panglima Jilah stated he intended to invite Jokowi to star in a Dayak-themed film.

“We also invited President Jokowi to act in the Dayak film. His response was positive regarding culture,” he said when interviewed at Jokowi’s residence in Sumber, Banjarsari, Solo, on Wednesday, 20 May.

Should the opportunity to act in the film materialise, Jokowi stated he would need acting training first.

“If they ask me to act, then I must train,” Jokowi said with a laugh.
