Joint TNI to PMI Team Evacuates Displaced Victims of KKB in Sinak
A joint team of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) along with Mulia Regional General Hospital and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua, evacuated displaced victims of violence allegedly carried out by the Legagak Telengeng faction of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Sinak District. The victim, NK, was secured by the authorities and transported to RSUD Mulia for intensive medical treatment on Wednesday (15/4). Previously, citing a TNI Information Centre press release, the KKB carried out violent acts that forced local residents to flee for their safety. In response to the dire situation, TNI personnel directly assisted in evacuating the residents, including mothers and children who were also victims of the violence, until they safely reached Puncak Jaya Regency, as quoted from the TNI Information Centre press release citing statements from Kodim 1714/PJ on Thursday (16/4). The victim NK was escorted directly by the PMI team and family using an ambulance vehicle. Upon arrival at the hospital, the victim immediately received first aid from the RSUD Mulia medical team. The victim suffered injuries to his right leg. In addition to NK, the joint team subsequently evacuated four other victims in safe and sound condition to RSUD Mulia, accompanied by TNI and Police personnel. The victims treated at RSUD Mulia consisted of woman AT who sustained injuries to her neck and finger, as well as three children: DW (3 years old) with tendon and right leg injuries, AW (5 years old) with a right chest injury, and OW (6 years old) with a right elbow injury. They, also accompanied by family, promptly received medical treatment at RSUD Mulia.
