The inauguration ceremony for 1,177 young officers of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday proceeded safely, orderly, and smoothly. Reynold also congratulated all newly commissioned TNI and Polri officers, expressing hope that they would become professional officers with integrity who prioritise the interests of the people. “May they become professional officers with integrity, prioritising the interests of the people, and capable of maintaining national unity and security in accordance with the mandate of the President of the Republic of Indonesia,” Reynold stated. During the ceremony, the President inaugurated 1,177 young officers, comprising 512 graduates of the Military Academy (Akmil), 229 graduates of the Naval Academy (AAL), 154 graduates of the Air Force Academy (AAU), and 282 graduates of the Police Academy (Akpol). The event was also attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the service chiefs of staff, MPR Speaker Ahmad Muzani, Head of the Police Education and Training Institute (Kalemdiklat) Commissioner General Ridwan Zulkarnain Panca Putra Simanjuntak, other state officials, defence and police attachés from friendly nations, and the families of the inaugurated officers. In his address, President Prabowo emphasised that the inauguration marked the beginning of the officers’ service to the nation and state. The President reminded the young officers to uphold their oath of office, remain loyal to Pancasila and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, maintain TNI-Polri solidarity, master technological developments, and steer clear of corruption and abuse of authority.
