Joint Team Searches 12 Locations in Corruption Case Involving PLN, Asabri, and Krakatau Steel

Jakarta - A joint team from the Indonesian National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) and the Metro Jaya Regional Police has conducted searches at 12 different locations across Jakarta and its surrounding areas. The operation is part of an investigation into an alleged corruption and money laundering case involving state-owned enterprises PT PLN (Persero), PT Asabri (Persero), and PT Krakatau Steel.

Metro Jaya Police spokesperson, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, explained that the series of activities was a legal measure undertaken by the joint team to collect evidence. As of Wednesday evening, the team had completed searches at two locations in South Jakarta: the de’Clan Signature café in Cipete and the Koin Money Changer in Cipete Selatan.

Searches were still ongoing at ten other locations, including the offices of PT CBS in West and North Jakarta, the office of PT KNI in Central Jakarta, the residence of an individual identified as MN in North Serpong, South Tangerang, the residence of TK in Mega Kuningan, South Jakarta, the DMG/CP group office in Kuningan, the office of PT PML in Karet Kuningan, the residence of DR in Gandaria Selatan, the apartment of MILDK at Pacific Place, and a house in Sentul, Bogor Regency.

The investigation encompasses three main strands: a blackout incident under the management of PT PLN, alleged corruption at Asabri and Jiwasraya between 2020 and 2025, and suspected money laundering in the debt settlement process between PT CBS and PT KNI. Senior Commissioner Hermanto stated that the probe covers bribery, gratification, and money laundering, and has come under the attention of President Prabowo Subianto, prompting the police to intensify their efforts to uncover the case.
