Joint Task Force Regulates Illegal Street Vendors in Roa Malaka Market
Jakarta (ANTARA) - A joint team from the West Jakarta City Government regulated illegal street vendors and sidewalk areas in the Pasar Pagi region of Jalan Petongkangan and Petak Baru RT 08 RW 01, Roa Malaka, Tambora, on Wednesday.
“We are regulating the sidewalks and street vendors, followed by regulation of drains, roads, lighting, waste, and business premises,” said Tambora Sub-District Head, Pangestu Aji Swandanu, at the location on Wednesday.
Aji stated that the regulation involved elements from the three pillars and the community, with 210 personnel deployed.
“So our officers are combing through the Pasar Pagi area, while also providing education, as mitigation and data collection,” he said.
According to Aji, the regulation of public facilities in Pasar Pagi is also aimed at enabling buyers to conduct transactions.
Therefore, illegal parking on sidewalks in the area was also regulated.
“So that buyers can shop comfortably here. First, the sidewalks, pedestrian paths, which have partly been turned into parking areas. That’s what we are regulating,” he added.
Meanwhile, Roa Malaka Ward Head, Wendi Irmansyah, added that the regulation activity in the Pasar Pagi area was accompanied by environmental cleaning in RW 01 and 02 of Roa Malaka Ward.
“Roa Malaka PPSU officers cleaned the drains and water channels earlier to ensure smooth flow in anticipation of puddles during the rainy season,” he said.
