“During the operation, officers confiscated a total of 637 bottles of alcoholic beverages of various brands,” said North Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) Chief Budhy Novian in Jakarta on Sunday.

He said the operation was carried out to maintain public order and keep the area conducive during Ramadan.

The activity was also a form of enforcement of Regional Regulation (Perda) No. 8 of 2007 on Public Order.

“This operation represents firm action so that residents, particularly in North Jakarta, can observe Ramadan in a safe, comfortable, and devout manner,” Budhy said.

He noted that 165 joint personnel were deployed in the operation, with deployment in each sub-district adjusted according to the needs and conditions of the respective area.

Budhy expressed hope that the synergy between authorities and the public would continue in order to maintain security, not only during Ramadan but beyond.

“Public participation is vital in creating a safe and orderly North Jakarta,” he said.

Meanwhile, North Jakarta Satpol PP Operations Section Chief Aries Cahyadi said the 637 bottles of alcoholic beverages were seized from a number of stalls across North Jakarta, comprising various brands.

“The enforcement was carried out in a persuasive and humane manner, ensuring it proceeded smoothly and safely,” Aries said.

All the confiscated evidence, he said, had been collected at the North Jakarta Mayor’s Office for recording and the preparation of examination reports in accordance with procedures.

“Subsequently, the evidence will be secured while awaiting a court decision for its destruction,” Aries said.

In addition to the alcohol raids, North Jakarta Satpol PP also conducted operations targeting social ills, including the prevention of brawls, crackdowns on thuggery, narcotics eradication, and supervision of nightlife venues.

“Through surveillance and enforcement during Ramadan, we hope the security situation and public order will remain conducive,” Aries concluded.
