Joint Task Force Cracks Down on Illegally Parked Trucks in Cengkareng
Jakarta (ANTARA) - A joint task force issued stern warnings to several box trucks parked illegally on Jalan Bojong Raya, Rawa Buaya Urban Village, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, on Wednesday. The operation was a response to public complaints about water gallon delivery trucks parking on top of water channels. Agus Prasetyo, Head of Operations for the West Jakarta Transportation Agency (Sudinhub), stated that the trucks’ presence not only violated public order regulations but also had the potential to damage water channel infrastructure and block water flow. “Besides damaging infrastructure, the illegally parked trucks can disrupt traffic flow on Jalan Bojong Raya,” he said. Five Transportation Agency officers were deployed to take action against the drivers of the mineral water trucks parked on the channels. “We have dispersed them and issued warning sanctions to the truck drivers. If they are found violating the rules again, we will not hesitate to take firm action to clear the trucks,” he added. Meanwhile, Rawa Buaya Urban Village Head Adith Pratama explained that his office had deployed several Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) officers to drive away the mineral water truck drivers. “Satpol PP members immediately followed up on the public complaint. We ask the mineral water business manager to prepare their own parking area. Do not use the road shoulder and water channels as a parking space,” he said.
