Jakarta - A joint force comprising the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has finally managed to secure the Hotel Sultan area. The joint force succeeded in beating back a crowd of sympathisers who were resisting the execution of a court order at Hotel Sultan.

According to monitoring by CNBC Indonesia, the execution process at Hotel Sultan in the Gelora Bung Karno complex, Jakarta, ended in chaos. This occurred after the sympathiser crowd, who opposed the eviction execution, still refused to disperse and chose to hold their ground in front of the Hotel Sultan area.

The Central Jakarta District Court, together with Police and TNI personnel, then attempted to enter the Hotel Sultan area. The sympathiser crowd subsequently fought back, striking officers with wooden sticks and pelting them with plastic bottles. As the situation became unconducive, the Police ultimately sprayed water at the sympathiser crowd.

The sympathiser crowd was eventually beaten back from the front area of Hotel Sultan. The joint force was able to take control of Hotel Sultan and carry out sterilisation.

Some of the joint force personnel then entered Hotel Sultan, while others remained on guard outside the complex. The Gelora Bung Karno Complex Management Centre (PPKGBK) also participated in overseeing the Hotel Sultan eviction and cataloguing assets inside Hotel Sultan.
