Joint Police-Military Patrols Intensified in Cimahi and West Bandung to Mitigate Street Crime

Cimahi Police Chief AKBP Niko Nurallah Adi Putra visited the 0609/Cimahi District Military Command Headquarters on Jalan Gatot Subroto on Thursday (16/7/2026). He was warmly received by the Commander of Kodim 0609/Cimahi City, Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Ratno. During the meeting, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) agreed to increase the intensity of large-scale patrols to maintain security and public order in the Cimahi City and West Bandung Regency (KBB) areas of West Java. The threats include debt collectors, motorcycle gangs, and muggings, which have caused significant public distress.

‘The state must be present to maintain public security and order in its territory, including the Police and the TNI in the Cimahi and West Bandung areas. We are intensifying patrols, especially at night, as muggings are currently rampant,’ said Cimahi Police Chief Niko Nurallah Adi Putra. The Cimahi Police and Kodim 0609/Cimahi will conduct integrated patrols without time limits to restrict the movement of criminals. They are also implementing the ‘Jaga Rawat Jawa Barat’ programme, which applies four principles: collaborative, adaptive, responsive, and solution-oriented.

‘Collaborative means exactly this, we coordinate with the TNI in the execution of field patrols. The collaboration between the TNI and Polri has been ongoing for a long time and continues to be maintained,’ Niko stated. Meanwhile, Commander of Kodim 0609/Cimahi City, Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Ratno, said the TNI fully supports the Police’s efforts to create a safe and comfortable environment for the community in the Cimahi and West Bandung areas. ‘We support each other’s activities, especially in maintaining public security and order. We can certainly be involved in handling urgent matters, but afterwards we coordinate with the police,’ said Ratno. He added that if the public faces threats from debt collectors on the road, they can seek safety and protection at the District Military Command and its sub-district commands in the Cimahi and West Bandung areas.
