A joint patrol by Brimob Battalion A Pelopor of Jakarta Regional Police and South Jakarta Metropolitan Police seized hundreds of illegal pills during a security operation in the Blok M area on Friday (29 May) early morning. South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief Senior Commissioner I Putu Yuni Setiawan said the joint patrol swept through several roads in the Blok M area during the operation. “Following the briefing, the combined personnel moved to patrol streets in Kebayoran Baru, including Barito, Melawai Raya, Panglima Polim, Wijaya, Iskandarsyah, and Pattimura roads,” Yuni said. The patrol targeted potential public order disturbances, including street fights, motorcycle gangs, and street crimes such as robbery with violence (curas), aggravated theft (curat), and motor vehicle theft (curanmor or 3C). “During the patrol, officers conducted vehicle checks at the ASEAN intersection in Kebayoran Baru around 1:10 AM WIB,” Yuni said. During the checks, officers found several drivers without proper vehicle documentation. Additionally, police seized Intisari liquor and hundreds of illegal drugs, including 70 Reklona pills, 563 Alprazolam tablets, and 310 Trihex tablets. Drivers found carrying illegal items were immediately detained by South Jakarta Metropolitan Police personnel for further investigation. Brimob Unit Commander Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto stated that the involvement of Brimob personnel in the joint patrol was a concrete demonstration of support for regional units to maintain public order. “Brimob personnel reinforced the joint patrol with South Jakarta Metropolitan Police. This activity is part of police synergy to prevent public order disturbances, particularly during late-night and early morning hours,” Henik said. He added that the preventive patrol was conducted to provide public safety while mapping and preventing potential security threats at an early stage. “Brimob supports regional units through both vehicle patrols and selective checks. All actions are carried out in a measured, humane, and procedural manner,” Henik stressed. Police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any signs of criminal activity or public order disturbances in their vicinity via the 110 hotline.
