Joint personnel from Nabire Police District and the Damai Cartenz Task Force-2026 seized one bladed weapon during patrols and vehicle raids at various crime-prone locations in Nabire City, Central Papua, on Thursday evening (28 May 2026).
Inspector General of Police Faizal Ramadhani, Head of the Damai Cartenz-2026 Operation, stated that routine patrols and raids form part of efforts to prevent potential security disturbances.
Patrols and raids began around 9:00 PM WIT targeting the prevention of muggings, possession of bladed weapons, and other criminal activities that could threaten public safety at night.
Joint personnel conducted checks on two- and four-wheeled vehicles passing through strategic points in Nabire City.
Faizal said the presence of security personnel on the ground is intended to protect the public and restrict criminals’ movements.
“The presence of personnel on the ground is expected to provide public protection and limit criminals’ movements that could disrupt public order and security,” he added.
“We continue to prioritise preventive measures through joint patrols and raids. In addition to preventing criminal acts, these activities aim to foster a sense of safety and enhance public trust in security personnel who are there to serve and protect,” said Adarma.
