A joint task force has again launched a valve-core removal operation (OCP) targeting illegally parked vehicles in the Sentra Primer Barat (SPB) Kembangan area and along Jalan Kembangan Raya, Kembangan Selatan, West Jakarta, on Wednesday. In the operation involving 45 personnel, 10 two-wheeled vehicles were penalised. “We also removed two street vendor (PKL) carts,” said Kembangan Sub-district Satpol PP Head Asmar Pandjaitan when confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday. Asmar stated that the activity was carried out to enforce Regional Regulation No. 8 of 2007 on Public Order. The operation targeted hotspots for indiscriminate parking and street vendors occupying roadways. “The Wednesday operation deployed 45 joint personnel from the West Jakarta Satpol PP, the Transportation Sub-agency, and the TNI-Polri. The targets were street vendors along Jalan Kembangan Raya and illegal parking in the Sentra Primer Barat Kembangan area,” he said. Officers took action against 10 two-wheeled vehicles in the SPB Kembangan area by removing their tyre valve cores. “We hope this enforcement will have a deterrent effect, so that no one parks illegally or uses road shoulders and pavements for business,” he asserted. Meanwhile, Kembangan Sub-district Head M. Fahmi Karsawijaya said the operation is expected to educate the public to always comply with applicable regulations, namely not parking carelessly and not trading on roads and pavements. “This will create a more orderly, safe, and comfortable environment for all road users and local residents,” he added.
