Joint Officers Resume Valve-Core Removal Operations in Kembangan

Joint officers launched another ‘tyre valve removal operation’ (OCP) targeting vehicles parked illegally in the Sentra Primer Barat (SPB) Kembangan area and Jalan Kembangan Raya, South Kembangan, West Jakarta, on Wednesday.

During the operation, carried out by 45 joint officers, 10 two-wheeled vehicles were penalised. Additionally, two street vendor carts were cleared from the area, stated the Head of the Kembangan District Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), Asmar Pandjunctaitan, when confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Asmar explained that the activity was conducted to enforce Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 8 of 2007 concerning Public Order. The operation targeted several hotspots prone to unauthorised parking and street vendors occupying the roadway.

“On Wednesday, we deployed 45 joint officers from the West Jakarta Satpol PP, the Transportation Agency, and the TNI-Polri (Military and Police). The targets were street vendors along Jalan Kembangan Raya and illegal parking in the Kembangan West Primary Centre area,” he said.

Officers penalised 10 two-wheeled vehicles in the Kembangan West Primary Centre area by removing their tyre valves.

“We hope this enforcement will serve as a deterrent, so that no individuals will park illegally or utilise the roadside and pavements for business,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of Kembangan District, M. Fahmi Karsawijaya, stated that the ‘Wednesday Order’ initiative is expected to educate the public to always comply with applicable regulations, specifically regarding avoiding illegal parking and not occupying roads and pavements for vending.

“This will create a more orderly, safe, and comfortable environment for all road users and local residents,” he added.
