Joint officers demolished two semi-permanent buildings and seven vehicle parking bays (garages) standing on 3,700 square metres of land owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government on Jalan Permata Taman Palem, RT 008/RW 03, Pegadungan, Kalideres, West Jakarta, on Thursday.

The enforcement involved 50 personnel from the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), the Transportation Sub-agency, the Environment Sub-agency, Public Infrastructure and Facilities Handling (PPSU), and the Indonesian National Armed Forces and National Police.

“This enforcement is a follow-up to the findings of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). On the asset land stood seven vehicle parking bays and two illegal buildings,” said Kalideres Sub-district Deputy Head Danur Sasono when confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday.

He said the enforcement was carried out as an effort to organise and secure the asset so that it is used according to its designation.

“After the enforcement, together with the urban village we will submit a request to the DKI Jakarta Regional Asset Management Agency (BPAD) for fencing to be installed,” said Danur.

“Previously, we had conducted outreach and issued warning letters, from SP 1 to SP 3, up to the enforcement letter,” said Anugerah.

After demolition, materials from the illegal structures at the location were immediately transported to a disposal site by the West Jakarta Environment Sub-agency fleet.

Local officials also carried out supervision at the location to prevent it from being occupied illegally again.
