Johnson gets green signal

JAKARTA (JP): The immigration department of the Ministry of
Justice said yesterday that Earvin "Magic" Johnson would be
allowed to perform at the Senayan Indoor Stadium here tomorrow
and Thursday as long as he is accompanied by a Ministry of Health
medical team.

Johnson, who is bringing eight players and four technicians
with him, was banned from entering Indonesia in January 1994
because he is HIV positive.

The former LA Lakers star, who was a member of the USA's first
Dream Team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, is scheduled to arrive
today at 10.00 a.m. and to stage a fans gathering at Blok M
Plaza, South Jakarta, in the afternoon. (yan)
