Johns Manville Announces John Vasuta as New Chief Executive Officer
Denver–(ANTARA/Business Wire)– Johns Manville (JM), a global building products and specialty products manufacturer owned by Berkshire Hathaway, today announced that Bob Wamboldt will retire and be succeeded by John Vasuta, who will assume the roles of President and Chief Executive Officer effective 1 August 2026.
Vasuta joined Johns Manville in 2019 as President of the company’s Engineered Products division. He also serves on the Board of EJ, a leading private global company that manufactures infrastructure access products for water, sewer, utilities, drainage, and telecommunications.
“It’s an extraordinary honour for me to serve as Chief Executive Officer,” Vasuta said. “I am deeply honoured to continue serving our customers and supporting our employees, whose dedication has driven our success.”
Prior to joining JM, John held a range of leadership positions at Bridgestone Corp., including President of Firestone Building Products International and Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Marketing, and Operations. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering, an MBA, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Akron.
John’s proven leadership, industry expertise, and close relationships with customers and employees make him well placed to lead JM into the future. He will continue to develop the company’s 168-year legacy by delivering a positive and memorable experience for employees, customers, shareholders, and other stakeholders.
“I’m very proud of what we have achieved together, including the achievements that reflect the hard work and dedication of our entire organisation,” Wamboldt said. “As I retire, I have complete confidence in John. His leadership will take this company to even greater success.”
Wamboldt joined Johns Manville in 2003 and subsequently led the company’s three business divisions—the Engineered Products, Roofing Systems, and Insulation Systems—before being appointed President and CEO in 2020.
“During Bob’s tenure, the company has made significant progress, and we value the dedication and professionalism he demonstrated while in the CEO role,” said Mary Rhinehart, Chair of the Johns Manville Board of Directors. “We extend our congratulations on a well-deserved retirement, and we hope John can continue to build on this solid foundation for the future.”
