Jogja Weather Today: Light Rain Possible in Cangkringan

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in Yogyakarta has issued its weather forecast for the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) for today (12 October). Partly cloudy conditions are expected to predominate across the region, although Bantul and Gunungkidul are forecast to be sunnier. There remains a chance of rain in northern Sleman.

Yogyakarta City

According to a post on BMKG Yogyakarta’s official Instagram account, @infobmkgyia, no part of Yogyakarta City is expected to receive rain today. Conditions are forecast to be partly cloudy to cloudy throughout the day.

Sleman

Rain is also not expected in most of Sleman today. Conditions are forecast to be partly cloudy to heavily overcast throughout the day, including around Prambanan Temple and its surroundings.

Other areas, including Kaliurang and the slopes of Mount Merapi in Pakem, Turi and Cangkringan districts, may see light rain from midday.

Bantul

No rain is forecast in Bantul today. Conditions are expected to be sunny to partly cloudy throughout the day, including at coastal tourist destinations such as Parangtritis Beach.

Kulon Progo

No rain is expected anywhere in Kulon Progo, including the Menoreh hills, coastal areas and Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA). Conditions are forecast to be partly cloudy to heavily overcast throughout the day.

Gunungkidul

No rain is forecast anywhere in Gunungkidul today. Conditions are expected to be sunny to partly cloudy throughout the day, including at coastal tourist destinations such as Indrayanti Beach.
