Jogja Financial Festival 2026 Set to Take Place – Mark Your Calendars!
Following successful events in Surabaya and Medan in 2025, the Financial Festival returns this year in Yogyakarta. The event, titled Jogja Financial Festival 2026, will span two days on 22-23 May 2026 at Jogja Expo Center (JEC). The festival will feature a combination of talkshows, exhibitions, and entertainment. It aims to serve as an effective and inclusive medium for building trust and expanding financial literacy to the wider public. The event is organised by Transmedia Group in partnership with Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), financial regulatory bodies (Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia, OJK, and LPS), and the financial industry. LPS Chairman Anggito Abimanyu stated that LPS’s support for the Jogja Financial Festival 2026 reflects its commitment to providing broader and deeper financial education and literacy to the public. “LPS, along with other KSSK member institutions such as the Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia, and the Financial Services Authority, has a mandate and responsibility to enhance public financial literacy and inclusion. There are still more than 15 million productive-age Indonesians who do not have bank savings accounts, and this is what we need to address through literacy efforts. LPS supports the programme that every Indonesian citizen should have a personal bank account,” Anggito said in an official statement on Friday (24/4/2026). Financial literacy and inclusion extend beyond banking to other areas of interest to young people or Gen-Z, such as shares, fintech, crypto, and other financial instruments. “The enthusiasm of young people in adopting increasingly diverse financial services and instruments must be balanced with an understanding of risks and security, so they can avoid harm and optimise their financial planning for the future wisely and intelligently,” Anggito continued. In addition to supporting financial literacy, LPS’s participation in the Jogja Financial Festival 2026 also aims to bolster Yogyakarta’s economy and education. “Indirectly, this activity can help drive the economy, including through the presence of UMKM and numerous visitors from out of town to Yogyakarta. From an educational perspective, the Jogja Financial Festival also brings together the real sector and higher education institutions, such as through the job fair. Many students are involved in this event, making it a platform for learning and practice before entering the business world. Moreover, 100% of the proceeds from Jogja Run D-City ticket sales will be donated for scholarships to students in need,” Anggito concluded. Meanwhile, CNBC Indonesia Editor-in-Chief Wahyu Daniel, representing Transmedia Group, announced that several speakers are scheduled to attend, including the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sultan Hamengkubuwono X. Inspirational figures such as successful entrepreneur and CT Corp owner and founder Chairul Tanjung, as well as top Indonesian artist Raffi Ahmad, will also be present. These financial sector leaders and inspirational domestic figures will deliver education and motivational stories that will undoubtedly benefit attendees. Additionally, exclusive financial education classes will be held, allowing participants to gain financial knowledge and investment tips for their future. Various financial industry players, including banking, capital markets, insurance, crypto, and fintech, will liven up the event with engaging and educational booth setups and games. UMKM booths will also join in to add to the festivities. Yogyakarta is a city at the epicentre of information. It gathers students and academics from across Indonesia, so the education and literacy promoted from Yogyakarta are expected to spread widely through these student and academic ambassadors.
