Jogja Financial Festival 2026: LPS Promotes Financial Literacy Among the Public
The Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) is once again participating in the Jogja Financial Festival 2026. Through this event, LPS aims to encourage improved financial literacy among the public to better understand safe financial management. The Jogja Financial Festival is scheduled to take place from 22-24 May 2026. For 22-23 May, activities will be centred at Jogja Expo Center (JEC) in Bantul, featuring a financial expo, talkshows, entertainment, and a job fair. On 24 May, the Jogja Run D-City will be held in the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) campus area. Ahead of the event, figures such as CT Corp Chairman Chairul Tanjung, LPS Chairman Anggito Abimanyu, and Bantul Regent Abdul Halim Muslih conducted a site inspection at JEC as the event venue today. LPS Group Relations Director Nur Budiantoro stated that this year’s participation is the second time, following previous involvement in similar events in Surabaya and Medan. “This is the second year we have been given the opportunity to participate in the Financial Festival activities. Previously, LPS participated in Surabaya and Medan. This year, we are once again given the opportunity together with Transmedia Group to participate in the city of Jogja,” said Budi at JEC, Banguntapan, Bantul, on Friday (3/4/2026). According to him, Jogja was chosen due to its strategic role as an education centre capable of accelerating the spread of information to various regions. “We see Jogja as a barometer. Information starting from Jogja will spread more quickly because Jogja is an education centre. Students from various regions are here,” he explained. Through this event, LPS hopes that the public will increasingly understand the importance of good financial management to avoid risks, including scams in the financial sector. “Our hope is that the public will increasingly understand finances or money matters, so they feel more secure and avoid unwanted things, such as financial scams,” he added.
