Jogja City Increases PPDB Capacity, Affirmative Quota Rises to 25 Percent
The Yogyakarta City Government has raised the combined affirmative quota for the KSJPS and disability pathways to 25 percent this year, marking a five percent increase from the previous year.
This was announced by the Head of the Yogyakarta City Education, Youth, and Sports Office (Disdikpora), Budi Santosa Asrari. He stated that the quota increase is intended to expand educational access for underprivileged families and persons with disabilities.
"Last year it was 20 percent, now we have increased it to 25 percent. God willing, everyone will be accommodated. For KMS holders, almost all are accommodated in state schools," Budi told reporters on Thursday (18/6/2026).
For students with disabilities, Budi said all applicants can be accepted. If they cannot be placed in a state school, the city government will facilitate their enrolment in a private school.
"If there are any who cannot be accommodated in a private junior high school in Yogyakarta City, we will cover the costs for those with disabilities in line with the KMS scheme," he explained.
The total number of seats for affirmative students has reached 3,584, an increase from 3,520 seats the previous year.
"The RTO (Real Time Online) figure was 3,520, plus 64. We have increased capacity for southern Yogyakarta City, at SMPN 10, by adding two study groups," he said.
Budi further detailed that the disability affirmative pathway accounts for 6 percent, the special achievement pathway 15 percent, and the general achievement pathway 10 percent. Meanwhile, the mutation and teacher welfare pathway accounts for 5 percent.
"The KSJPS affirmative pathway is allocated a 19 percent quota and disability 6 percent," he concluded.
