Joang 45 Former Flag Raising Team Holds Selection for the 17th of August Ceremony
The main objective of this activity is to select the best young generation who will be the flag-raising team for the Independence Day ceremony at the Joang Building.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Joang 45 Former Flag Raising Team held a selection process for students in grades 7 and 8 of junior high schools, to become the flag-raising team for the August 17th ceremony at the Joang 45 Museum, Jakarta.
βThe main objective of this activity is to select the best young generation who will be the flag-raising team for the Independence Day ceremony at the Joang Building,β said the General Chair of the Joang 45 Former Flag Raising Team, Citra Ratih Indriani in a statement confirmed in Jakarta, Sunday.
In addition, she said that the selection process aims to build character in children who have a spirit of nationalism, discipline, strong mentality, and a healthy competitive spirit.
Of the 224 registrants, as many as 124 participants passed the administrative selection for face-to-face selection.
Furthermore, 115 of the 124 participants took part in the first stage of selection on May 16, 2026. However, only 61 participants managed to pass and continue to the selection on Sunday (May 17).
According to Citra, the selection is carried out strictly to get the best participants who are not only physically superior, but also have good academic abilities and leadership character.
The selection stages include health checks such as blood pressure, height and weight, eye tests for nearsightedness and color blindness, to body posture checks.
In addition, participants also undergo tests of national insight, physical endurance, and the ability to follow marching regulations.
