JMM Calls for Strengthening Brotherhood Amid Global Dynamics

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Global geopolitical uncertainties are seen as potentially impacting domestic economic and social stability. The Jaringan Muslim Madani (JMM) has reminded of the importance of maintaining unity as a foundation to face such situations. JMM assesses that uncertain global dynamics need to be addressed through strengthening national solidarity. Unity is considered the key to ensuring Indonesia remains resilient amid global pressures. JMM Executive Director Syukron Jamal stated that society needs to strengthen the spirit of nationalism and maintain social harmony. “In a world shrouded in geopolitical uncertainty and potential global crises, the Indonesian nation must strengthen ukhuwah, solidarity, and unity. We must not be divided by political differences, identities, or short-term interests,” said Syukron in his statement on Thursday (19/3/2026). According to Syukron, national strength is not only determined by the economy but also by societal solidarity. The Ramadan momentum is also seen as relevant for strengthening social reconciliation and brotherhood. “Eid al-Fitr is a spiritual moment to return to the purity of the heart, strengthen familial ties, and reaffirm our national commitment as one nation and one homeland,” said Syukron. JMM invites religious figures, academics, to young generations to maintain social tranquillity and the spirit of mutual assistance. “A great nation is one that can unite to face historical trials. With unity, insya Allah, Indonesia will be able to overcome various global challenges and continue stepping towards a stronger and more just future,” said Syukron.
