JMFF 2026 Attracts 4,026 Visitors, Educating Youth on Minerals and National Unity
The Junior Miners Fun Fest (JMFF) 2026, organised by MIND ID together with its group members ANTAM, Bukit Asam, Freeport Indonesia, INALUM, Timah, and Vale Indonesia, successfully attracted 4,026 visitors. The four-day event at Lippo Mall Kemang, South Jakarta, drew 1,588 children and 2,438 adults. This figure nearly doubled the attendance of the inaugural event in 2025, which recorded 2,167 visitors, reflecting a growing public interest in mining education for the younger generation.
Throughout the event, children were invited to play while learning about various minerals used in daily life, understanding simple mining processes, and recognising the importance of environmental conservation. Each attraction was designed to convey knowledge through direct experience rather than mere explanation. Beyond the games, children also participated in colouring a map of Indonesia, symbolising the nation’s future unity and integrity.
Seven-year-old Senja admitted she fell in love with the atmosphere from the first day. ‘It was so much fun! I now know that many everyday items come from mining,’ she said enthusiastically, adding that learning through play made new knowledge easier to remember. ‘If there is another one, I want to join again,’ she said.
Her parent, Pudjiyanti, 47, assessed that the edutainment approach was an effective way to introduce the importance of natural resources to children. ‘Children understand more easily when they learn through play. They not only enjoy the games but also take home new knowledge about Indonesia’s natural resource wealth and the importance of managing it responsibly,’ Pudjiyanti said. She noted that the direct learning experience made her child far more enthusiastic compared to learning from books. ‘My child usually gets bored quickly when learning from books. Here, she is actually excited to try every game. I hope activities like this can continue to be held because the benefits are truly felt, both for children and parents,’ she said.
MIND ID Corporate Secretary Pria Utama stated that JMFF is a family educational space during the holiday period, while also introducing the mining sector more closely to the younger generation. Through direct experience playing in a mining-themed park, children are expected to gain a better understanding of the mining world and its contribution to national development. ‘This is a concrete step by the MIND ID Group to shape a golden generation that is better able to appreciate natural resources, while supporting the sustainable development of Indonesia’s mining industry in the future,’ Pria said in a statement on Monday (6/7/2026).
