Jl. Wahid Hasyim to be beautified

JAKARTA (JP): The city administration plans to beautify the
sidewalks and parks along Jl. Wahid Hasyim in Central Jakarta.

The head of the city park agency, Syamsir Alam, said yesterday
that the project is expected to cost more than Rp 2 billion
(US$888,888) and be completed in 1996.

The project will be the second conducted in Jakarta, after Jl.
Kebon Sirih was improved at a cost of Rp 1 billion.

The Central Jakarta mayor, Abdul Kahfi, said the project is
being financed by local donations and by the Ministry of Post and
Tourism. (yns)
