Jl. Raya Dadap launched

TANGERANG: Tangerang regent Agus Djunara launched on Monday the new Jl. Raya Dadap, a 6.5 kilometer main road in East Kosambi subdistrict, Kosambi district, which was constructed by local residents and warehouse businessmen.

"We hope that the construction of this main road will support the acceleration of local resident economic growth and moreover we will build a trade seaport here next year that is also expected to empower residents in the district," Djunara said.

He admitted that all this time the economic development had been only concentrated in the regency's southern and central parts, which has adequate transportation means.

According to Kosambi district chief Noor Ali, the construction of the new road cost Rp 1.2 billion.

The regency development planning body (Bappeda) chief Suryana said that the administration would need US$40 million for the construction of the new sea port in Tanjung Pasir, Teluk Naga district.

The administration has prepared the technical and non technical plans for the sea port construction, he said. --JP
